  • · FDA today announced new funding for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) to provide critical resources to help state and territorial agencies continue to implement FSMA
  • · NASDA will help implement produce safety programs that encourage the safe production of fresh fruits and vegetables, the understanding of the Produce Safety Rule, and compliance with the rule’s requirements.
  • · As part of the five-year agreement, NASDA will also help implement and update the On-Farm Readiness Review system and develop a national produce safety regulatory program that promotes a uniform foundation of produce safety.
  • · FOOD SAFETY ALERT: consumers should not eat and discard recalled yellow fin tuna steaks from Kroger stores in 16 states after several became ill from scombroid poisoning. https://www.fda.gov/food/alerts-advisories-safety-information/fda-advises-consumers-not-eat-yellowfin-tuna-steaks-kroger-retail-stores-multiple-states
  • · The tuna affected by this recall was sold in AL, AR, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MO, MS, NE, OH, SC, TN, VA and WV, with sell by dates from August 29, 2019 to September 14, 2019.
