- · THREAD: We’ve announced an investigation into 47 cases of Scombrotoxin fish poisoning linked to tuna supplied by Truong Phu Xanh of Vietnam. All parts of the supply chain should discard yellowfin/ahi from this firm with dates in 2019. https://go.usa.gov/xpkaB
- · While we expect restaurants and retailers will have removed this product, consumers should ask if the yellowfin tuna being served or sold was imported from the Vietnamese supplier Truong Phu Xanh Co.
- · If you’re wondering what Scombrotoxin fish poisoning is, it occurs when certain species of fish are not properly chilled or preserved and begin to spoil. Consumers should know it typically causes temporary or medically reversible illness.
