• · Today, #FDA announced it recently suspended the food facility registration of Topway Enterprises Inc (or Kazy’s Gourmet) following inspections where serious food safety violations were observed. Topway now cannot sell or distribute any food into commerce https://go.usa.gov/xyf3W
• · The company has yet to implement adequate corrective actions. FDA issued a safety alert on 7/18 advising TX and LA food retailers and consumers should discard recent shipments of Topway’s seafood products https://go.usa.gov/xyf3k
• · Topway’s unsafe practices not only violated the law, but also jeopardized the health of consumers as the company continued to distribute food products likely to be contaminated with Listeria. This is the sixth time FDA has suspended a facility’s registration through FSMA.
