- · FDA responded to the 1997 request stating that the agency’s Proposed (79 FR 11897, 11893-11899) and Final (81 FR 33742, 33782-33786) Rules on “Food Labeling: Revision of the Nutrition and Supplement Facts Labels” provided an in-depth discussion of the citizen petition that fully addresses the issues and the agency therefore declines to amend the definitions of “Total Fat” and “Saturated Fat” to excluded the requested compounds acetic, propionic, and butyric acids.
FDA-2017-P-6245, Request that the FDA issue a regulation stating pyridoxamine is a dietary supplement as defined by the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (herein DSHEA)

FDA-2016-P-3620, Citizen Petition from MGP Ingredients, Inc. Requests that the FDA amend the definition of “dietary fiber” at 21 C.F.R. § 101.9(c)(6)(i) by adding Modified Wheat Starch (Fibersym® RW and FiberRite® RW) to the existing list of isolated or synthetic non-digestible carbohydrates determined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) to have “physiological effects that are beneficial to human health.”
