FDA Announces Release of New Produce Training Video

The Office of Training, Education and Development (OTED), an integral part of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA), is pleased to announce the release of its YouTube Produce Inspections for Regulators Virtual Produce Tour. The video is intended for produce inspectors, regulators, growers, extension agents, and others interested in produce inspections conducted in accordance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule.

In the YouTube training video, viewers will be introduced to the fundamental elements of a routine produce inspection as covered in OTED’s FD226 Produce Inspections for Regulators course, including: the initial interview, adjacent land use, employee training, toilet and handwashing facilities, animal intrusion, agricultural water, biological soil amendments of animal origin, growing, harvesting, packing and cooling, records review, and the exit interview.
