As we approach a new year, the 2018 call for applications (CFA) for the FDA Tobacco Regulatory Science Fellowship (http://www.tobaccoregulatorysciencefellowship.org/?utm_source=general) is fast approaching! The next CFA will open on Jan. 3, but we are encouraging anyone who is interested in applying to sign up NOW to receive a reminder in January about this great opportunity.

This program is a 12-month, paid fellowship at the FDA Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) for mid-career professionals from various disciplines, including health communication and education, public policy, research, law, public administration, business administration, science, and compliance. Opportunities are available in the following areas within the CTP: Compliance and Enforcement, Health Communication and Education, Management, Policy, Regulations, and Science.

Fellows will actively participate in the development of science-based public health strategies, serve as the lead for defined projects, and meet with policy leaders. Each fellow will be awarded a stipend based on salary history (up to $95,000). In addition, each fellow may be eligible to receive a relocation fund (not to exceed $10,000).

We would appreciate your help in promoting this year’s early sign-up. Attached is sample promotional language for your social media. In addition, we’ve included a sample article for a newsletter if you have something coming out in January or early February.

If possible, please share your efforts with us, such as a screen shot of a Facebook post or a forwarded e-newsletter, as well as the reach of your communications. We also welcome any insights you can offer on other organizations or individuals to contact about this wonderful opportunity.
