2017 Train-the-Trainer Course

The Seafood HACCP Alliance (SHA) is happy to welcome 24 new trainers who completed the 2017 Train-the-Trainer course held on May 9-11 in Chicago, IL. Our new trainers are from 13 different U.S. states, Puerto Rico, South Korea and Ecuador. The new trainers also come from a variety of different backgrounds including: 5 individuals from federal or state regulatory agencies; 5 individuals from university-based programs; 7 from seafood industry companies; and 7 from private consulting firms or organizations.  Those who completed the Train-the-Trainer course can be a qualified instructor to deliver the Seafood HACCP Alliance three-day basic Seafood HACCP course, the Segment Two course, and the Sanitation Control Procedures (SCP) course. All of our new trainers have indicated their willingness and intent to conduct SHA training. The instructors for the Train-the-Trainer course were: Ken Gall from Cornell University, Doris Hicks from the University of Delaware and Patti Ross from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
