• · AMPI has several distributors and we’re working to identify the firms they supply to in an effort to determine if any received potentially contaminated product and what, if any, food may be contaminated with Salmonella. There could be additional recalls based on what we find.
• · This is a common ingredient that’s likely used in other products. But not all products that used the potentially contaminated whey will need to be recalled. Some products may have processing steps or “kill steps” (like heating to certain temps) that could eliminate the risk.
• · We’ll work through this with manufacturers as we identify them. #FDA is closely coordinating with @CDCgov so we’ll be aware of any potential illnesses that may be identified. There are still no confirmed cases of illness to date. https://go.usa.gov/xUEEx
